The DoneFors soon to release their debut CD
How to Have Sex With Canadians

Canada’s music scene has a bold new face in The DoneFors
— a fine collective forging new ground and aptly
cornering the market of Canadiana Vanguard.

Four sonically varied and seasoned Toronto musicians came together in the wee hours of 2006 to form the backing band for acclaimed singer-songwriter Janine Stoll. Paul MacDougall (electric guitar) and Liam Smith (bass) of Juno nominated afro-funk outfit Mr. Something Something, provided musical tour support to Stoll in April of 2006 to help bring her record This is where we bury it to the listening audiences of Canada's East Coast. Since then the trio has grown to include the percussive addition of Brian Lahaie (SuperstacK, Greg Hobbs, Angie Nussey). After playing some high-profile shows as a full band (OCFF Official Showcase in 2006, Open Door Music Festival,The Junction Arts Festival, Plan B Harvest Festival, etc.) the culmination of each individual's talents in creating solid arrangements for the material proved to form an entity equal in all its parts and worthy of a full-on collaborative effort. The DoneFors were born.

Ballsy songwriting, experimental style merging, organic sound, and engaging live show are only some of the many ways to describe The DoneFors experience. Often crass, honest, vulnerable, and thought provoking in lyrical content, a listener would be challenged to walk away from a DoneFors song feeling indifference. What is being produced by this quartet defies any concrete pigeonholing which is why they've chosen to refer to what they do as Canadiana Vanguard. Spanning genres and stretching boundaries — offering up delicious ambiguity. The DoneFors are thrilled to be bringing their music to the masses.

Currently, The DoneFors are busy in the studio working on recording their first full-length CD — How to Have Sex with Canadians — to be released in the fall of 2008. We encourage you to follow this band through its evolution as the The DoneFors continue on the road to becoming one of Canada's most exciting original bands.
